Picnic Gear, Sunscreen and ID

Picnic baskets: You are welcome to bring picnic baskets into the arena. Remember not to include any glass items as they will be confiscated, so transfer to plastic containers before leaving home. All baskets & bags checked on entry to the arena.

Blankets & Rugs: You are welcome to bring Blankets and Picnic Rugs along. We suggest you: Wear sensible shoes, Bring sun hats, sunglasses and sunscreen, Bring cash as there are no eft or credit facilities on site.

Photo ID: Bring photo ID if you want to buy alcohol no matter what you age. No ID, no alcohol.

The Don'ts...

No BYO, Animals, or camping

No umbrellas and shade houses - they create a visual obstruction and a potential danger.  

No BYO alcohol. Any alcohol brought to the site will be confiscated. This is part of the licensing of the venue, breaking this will most likely see you escorted off site.

No dogs or animals of any kind

No bean bags - the beads are a contaminant in the natural environment, incredibly messy and you will find it very difficult to clean up the mess.

No camping of any kind.

No gas bottles, flares, fireworks, glass or weapons. Please remember, what is illegal off site is illegal on site.

No Passouts: There will be NO passouts available.

No Glass: If traveling by car or bus the event has a strict 'No Glass' policy. Any glass container (including baby food, bottles, jars of vegemite etc) will all be confiscated and binned - no exceptions.

 

 

Getting to the Festival by Bus

Bus services to the festival will commence at 11am on the day. They will run from the Sunbury Railway station to the festival site, this schedule meeting with the train timetable.

So if coming from Melbourne or Bendigo immediately off the train and on to the waiting bus will see you at the festival site within 15 minutes. All patrons will have to show their bus ticket to get on to the bus and will have to show their festival ticket to get into the festival so please have them ready. 

Bus services from the festival (to get you home) will run on the hour from the festival site to the Sunbury Railway station up to 9.30pm. After this they will run directly to Southern Cross station. The last buses leaving the festival at 12 midnight sharp. You will have to have a prepaid bus ticket to get on for the trip to Southern Cross. No ticket no ride so please don't loose it.

Getting to the Festival by Car

Getting to the festival is very easy by private vehicle. Allow 40 min travel time from the CBD to the site.

If coming from Melbourne then take either the Tullamarine freeway and go through Bulla to Sunbury or take the Calder Highway through to Diggers Rest and then the Vineyard road exit to Sunbury. Either way you will strike Riddells Creek Road. Go towards Riddells Creek and look for the BackRoad Festival road signs before the Settlement Road West intersection. Just another 1.5 km along Settlement Road West is the entry gate. Plenty of Free Parking available on site so no need to panic about parking tickets. On arrival all tickets will be checked for all passengers, please have them ready.
